I had a cranial MRI today. Nothing to worry about — it’s for a medical study, not anything wrong with me. What I wasn’t expecting is that they handed me a CD with the results. I’ve been deep down the vibe-coding rabbit hole, and wondered if I could prompt Claude to crank out a 3D-printable model for me.
Dear reader: yes, yes I could. In fact, Claude Clode in agentic mode got about 95% of the way to completion with no prompting after a quick initial plan. Now it’s on me to actually repair my printer (I suspect a clog just upstream of the hot end — glitter filament might SOUND fun but it’s caused me significant problems) so I can reap my “reward.” But don’t just take my word for it — I’ll spare the squeamish from a screenshot, but this is fully functioning at https://mybrain.demusoft.com (warning: you will, in fact, see a rendering of my brain and its vasculature). If you’re on mobile, use landscape.
I honestly didn’t work very hard on this or learn much from it — I’m sharing it because of my surprise at just how far Claude Code could get with a good plan and no other significant input. I’ve been working to refine my ability to pre-plan before jumping into code, with surprisingly strong results.
